Lockheed Martin bags $72.4 M submarine contracts

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training has been awarded a $72.4 million contract to provide U.S. and United Kingdom Trident II (D5) navigation subsystem engineering support services.

The contract will see Lockheed Martin provide U.S. and U.K. fleet support and U.S. and U.K. trainer systems support.

The company will also perform engineered refueling overhauls on the Ohio-class SSBN and support the U.K. Successor program with software modernization.

If all options of the contract were to be exercised the contract value would be brought to a maximum dollar value of $147.3 million.

Most of the work will be performed in Mitchell Field, New York, and the expected completion date is September 30, 2017.
