India: Offshore Commander Conference aboard aircraft carrier

Indian prime minister Shri Narendra Modi chose the Indian Navy aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya as the venue of the Combined Commanders’ Conference 2015.

The minister was introduced to top army, naval and air commanders in waters off the Kerala coast, India.

The Combined Commanders’ Conference is a one-day event in which three force chiefs and other senior officers of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force brief the Prime Minister about military issues and put up suggestions as necessary.

After the hour and a half long briefing about military issues the commanders attended the operational demonstration in which ships, submarines and aircraft showcased their capabilities.

After that, the minister toured the aircraft carrier which succeeded INS Viraat as the flagship of Indian Navy in 2013.
