Servowatch’s IPMS for Royal Navy Vessels Pass FATs

Servowatch has completed BAE System’s Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of the fully integrated platform management system it has built for the Royal Navy’s offshore patrol vessels.

Servowatch is a supplier of advanced integrated ship control systems and will now integrate the IPMS package at BAE Systems’ shipyard on the River Clyde, Glasgow, Scotland, where the next-generation OPVs are currently under construction.

The Servowatch scope of supply includes a fully integrated control and management system for the vessels’ propulsion, power generation, HVAC, fire-detection and tank gauging systems.

The first vessel in the new batch will have more storage and accommodation facilities and a larger flight deck than the current River Class of OPVs.

The offshore patrol vessels are scheduled to be delivered to the Royal Navy in 2017.
