Sri Lanka Navy Arrests 19 Poachers

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest nineteen Indian fishermen along with two Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters.

The culprits were poaching east of Point Pedro and Vettalakerni on October 9.

The arrested fishermen, along with their trawlers and their catch, were brought to Kankasanthurai and handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Jaffna) for onward action.
