German Frigate Lübeck Changes Command

Commander of German Navy’s 4th Frigate Squadron, Captain Thorsten Marx will transfer the command of Frigate Lübeck on October 2, 2015.

During the event Commander Peter Christian Semrau will hand over his duties to Commander Matthias Schmitt.

Commander Semrau has been leading the frigate for two years. He will now move on to the Ministry of Defense in Berlin to take up a position in the Department of deployment and strategies.

Commander Schmitt is familiar with the frigate, as he has been deployed aboard Lübeck as a Weapons Officer 15 years ago, and a few years later, he served as an Operations Officer on the same warship.

The change of command ceremony will take place in Kiel Naval Base.
