Austal Bags Five LCS 6 Contracts

Naval Sea Systems Command awards Austal USA five contracts worth approximately US$22 million.

Austal USA was awarded a US$13,3 million order to provide all supplies, services, labor and material in support of the pre-shock trials emergent availability for Littoral Combat Ship USS Jackson (LCS 6). Efforts will include program management, test plan and Integrated Master Schedule development, and work package execution and testing. Work will be performed in Mayport, Florida and is expected to be completed by June 2016.

In addition to the above contract, the Company received a further four orders worth US$9,3 million. All are cost-plus-award-fee orders against previously awarded Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) and are designed to support on-going Littoral Combat Ship operations for LCS 6. These orders are to provide engineering and management services for advance planning and design support of the post shakedown availability (PSA) and shock trials; including PSA test and trials support, combat ship qualifications (CSSQ) and final contract trials (FCT) support, emergent repair/sailaround, and full ship shock trial (FSST) preparation repair.

Austal USA will provide design, planning and material support services for the vessel. Efforts will include post-delivery support and service, program management, advance planning, engineering, design, test and activation, production, material kitting, liaison and scheduling.

Austal has a US$3.5 billion block-buy contract from the U.S. Navy to build 10 Littoral Combat Ships and a separate US$1.6 billion block-buy contract from the U.S Navy to build 10 103-meter Expeditionary Fast Transports (EPF) – formerly Joint High Speed Vessels (JHSVs).
