Brazilian Navy’s Training Ship Rests in Rotterdam

Brazilian Navy’s training ship BNS Brasil recently paid a visit to the Cruise Terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

According to social media, the vessel entered the Cruise Terminal on September 19 and continued its journey today, September 22. BNS Brasil was escorted into the Terminal by two KOTUG tugs, ZP Chalone and SD Sparta.

Each year the Brazilian Navy takes a class of midshipmen on a six month tour allowing them to put their theoretical training into practice. Following their tour the midshipmen complete their training and get assigned to their respective ships or land base postings.

The vessel started its deployment from Rio de Janeiro in July 2015.

Besides its training program, the vessel’s tour also aims to strength the diplomatic ties with allied countries.
