RFS Smetlivy Heads for the Mediterranean

Black Sea Fleet destroyer ship Smetlivy will take part in the “Russian week in the Ionian Islands”.

RFS Smetlivy left Sevastopol today and headed for the Black  Sea straits. The ship is expected to reach the Mediterranean Sea tomorrow.

According to the vessel’s schedule, the ship will participate in international naval events, including the traditionally held “Russian week on the Ionian Islands”. It will also pay working visits to the ports of Corfu and Lefkada.

After completing all official activities, the Smetlivy will continue performing assigned tasks in permanent formation of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
