French Navy La Fayette-class frigate Surcouf (F711) concluded its mission as part of the Combined Task Force 150 (CTF150) on August 6.

The vessel was deployed for three and a half months and travelled more than 20,000 nautical miles covering the Gulf of Aden, Persian Gulf, Gulf of Aqaba, Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea.

Surcouf commenced its deployment on May 18, 2015 in the Indian Ocean participating in Operation Freedom’s Sentinel within the CTF150. They fought against terrorism by conducting multiple inspections of vessels suspected of arms, coal and drug trafficking.

During this period of time the vessel worked on its cooperation with foreign navies and maintaining its level of interoperability.
