Spanish Navy’s Infanta Elena Helps Fishing Vessel

Spanish Navy’s patrol boat Infanta Elena (P76) recently assisted a fishing vessel in distress near Cabo Tiñoso, Murcia, Spain.

Infanta Elena, which is currently on patrol conducting maritime surveillance and security measures in the Mediterranean, learned through an emergency call on August 3 that the fishing vessel Melchor y Juana had a leak on board. The patrol vessel altered its course and after it got into position its crew inspected and repaired the damage.

After making sure the fishing vessel was no longer in danger, Infanta Elena continued its mission.
