U.S. 6th Fleet’s operational logistics arm – Commander, Task Force 63 – was selected as the 2014 recipient of the prestigious Admiral Stan Arthur logistics award for “logistics team of the year,” according to a notification released by the Chief of Naval Operations July 14, 2015.

The award recognizes Commander, Task Force 63’s Naples-based team for their unsurpassed logistical support to the naval forces in the dynamic U.S. European and U.S. Africa Command area of operations, delivering on all three tenets of the Chief of Naval Operations’ 2014 Navigation Plan.

CTF 63 is the lead component for providing and coordinating logistics support to surface, landing force, and air units operating in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations to include stores, fuel and ammo replenishment, transportation services, platform maintenance, salvage, tow services, mail delivery and medical support.
