Russian Navy’s Severomorsk Deploys for Training

Russian Navy’s large anti-submarine destroyer Severomorsk departed its home base today for training in the Barents Sea.

Over the next several days the crew of the vessel will undertake a series of combat training exercises, internal ship drills and damage control in motion.

The vessel will conduct artillery battle training against an imaginary enemy ship, series of firings against sea targets of universal caliber artillery systems AK-100, and exercises to repel air attacks in a different range of altitudes.

Special attention will be given to the antisubmarine training and engagement with the naval aviation during submarine search.
