French Navy’s L’Adroit Ends Its Deployment

After being deployed as part of the Operation Atalanta for almost four months, French Navy’s Offshore Patrol Ship L’Adroit returned home to Toulon on July 3.

During its deployment, the vessel took part in the anti-piracy operation, conducting several intelligence operations off the coast of Somalia. L’Adroit also led a maritime surveillance operation against illegal fishing and illegal immigration along the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) of the Mozambique Channel. Additionally, the vessel participated in several exercises with foreign navies, particularly in Central Africa and West Africa.

L’Adroit played a central role in the evacuation of foreign nationals during the outbreak of the crisis in Yemen and contributed to the evacuation route between the ports of Al-Mokha and Djibouti, escorting dhows in the Strait of Bab-el-Mandeb.

The vessel sailed a total of more than 17,000 nautical miles and docked at 13 different ports.
