Admiral Nakhimov Should Return to Service in 2018

Russian Navy’s heavy nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov should conclude its modernization works by 2018.

The decision was made during a meeting between the leadership of the Machine-Building plant of Severodvinsk and the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.

Admiral Nakhimov will receive additional capabilities, advanced systems and armament during this period.

Admiral Viktor Chirkov said that heavy nuclear missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky is expected to start its modernization period as soon as Admiral Nakhimov finishes its upgrade.
