USS Milius on Its Way Home

The guided missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) is scheduled to return June 25 from a 250-day independent deployment to the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans.

While deployed to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleets, the ship and crew of more than 300 Sailors, assigned to Destroyer Squadron Two One (DESRON) 21, conducted presence operations and goodwill activities with partner nations.

During the deployment, Milius transited nearly 71,000 nautical miles, conducted numerous Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) missions and participated in four international maritime security exercises.

The ship is homeported in San Diego and is part of Naval Surface Forces and U.S. 3rd Fleet.
