Irish Navy’s vessel LÉ EITHNE transported 399 migrants to Taranto, Italy, yesterday June 8.

All migrants were successfully disembarked and processed by the Italian authorities on arrival.

The crew of the LÉ EITHNE quickly resupplied and refueled the vessel and departed Taranto towards its assigned patrolling area in the Southern Mediterranean to recommence Humanitarian and Search and Rescue operations.

The LÉ EITHNE departed on the 16th of May from Naval Service Headquarters in Haulbowline, Cork to assist the Italian Authorities in the humanitarian search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean.
