French Navy’s light monitoring frigate Ventôse recently intercepted a vessel carrying drugs off Dominica.

With the help of US maritime patrol aircraft, the frigate was able to locate the suspicious Go Fast vessel on May 24 and engaged in pursuit. Along the way, the Go Fast vessel discharged bundles of its cargo, which the frigate collected, revealing 20 kilos of marijuana. The operation soon concluded when Ventôse caught up with the vessel and arrested the three members of the crew heading toward Guadeloupe.

The three people, along with their cargo, were handed over to the Dominica’s Coast Guard for further proceedings.
