Following the recent success of Exercise BERSAMA SHIELD 2015, Australian Navy’s HMAS Perth joined ships from across the Asia-Pacific at Singapore’s Changi Naval Base for the International Maritime Defence Exhibition Asia 2015.

The international maritime defence show, combines defence industry exhibitions, strategic conferences and a warship display. Perth was on show alongside 20 other ships from 12 countries.

Perth opened her gangway to visiting dignitaries and members of the public, including Singaporean Minister of State, Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Chief of the Republic of Singapore Navy, Rear Admiral Lai Chung Han, and Australian Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett.

To mark the completion of the Exhibition, Perth hosted an official reception on board which was attended by a large number of senior foreign military officers and government officials.

Perth has gone on to participate in the fifth Western-Pacific Naval Symposium Multi-Lateral Sea Exercise, before she continues with the remainder of a South-East Asian deployment. On return to Australia, the ship will participate in Exercise TALISMAN SABRE 2015 before conducting a security patrol of the North West Shelf on return to Fleet Base West at the end of July.
