French Navy’s FREMM frigate Aquitaine D650 conducted its first naval missile firings.
The vessel conducted the test firing on May 12 and 19 off the coast of Île du Levant. MM-40 Exocet anti-ship missile and the Missile de Croisière Naval (MdCN) naval cruise missile were used in the tests.
The FREMM (European multipurpose frigate) frigates, designed by DCNS/Armaris and Fincantieri for the navies of France and Italy, should replace the existing classes of frigates in these navies.
