US Navy Vessels Engage in RAS in Gulf of Aden

On May 9, US Navy vessels met in the Gulf of Aden for a replenishment-at-sea.

The amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), rear, and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) conducted a RAS with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7).

Fort McHenry, part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, is participating in exercise Eager Lion 2015, a recurring multinational exercise designed to strengthen military-to-military relationships, increase interoperability between partner nations and enhance regional security and stability.
