Perth, Australia Hosts Carl Vinson CSG

The crew of USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Carrier Air Wing 17 (CVW 17), USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) and USS Gridley (DDG 101) visited Perth, Australia April 26 to May 2.

While in port, Sailors participated in six community relations events in and around the Perth area.

U.S. Consul General in Perth Cynthia A. Griffin said she was enthusiastic to meet all the Sailors, and to continue strengthening the diplomatic and military ties between the U.S. and Australia.

The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
