Authorities

For the eighth consecutive year the Royal Navy is showing a strong presence at the Jersey Boat Show.

River Class Patrol ship HMS Tyne arrived in Jersey on Friday, May 1, along with two P2000 Fast Patrol Boats – HMS Trumpeter the training vessel for Cambridge University Royal Naval Unit and HMS Ranger, training vessel for Sussex University Royal Naval Unit.

HMS Tyne is berthed on Albert Pier and the P2000s in the Marina. The three vessels will remain in Jersey until Tuesday, May 5.

They are joined at the Boat Show by four Offshore Raiding Craft (ORCs) which are designed to transport Royal Marines from ship to shore and for support missions along coastlines and river networks.

All three ships and the ORCs are open to the public during the show.

A number of other Royal Navy and Royal Marines assets are on display in Weighbridge Square.

These include a Royal Navy Lynx Helicopter, a demonstrator ORC on a trailer, and a Royal Marines Reserve weapons display.
