UAE Navy Officers Tour HMAS Success in Dubai

Australian Navy’s tanker HMAS Success recently hosted a number of United Arab Emirates Navy officers while alongside in Dubai for a brief self-maintenance period.

Twenty United Arab Emirates Navy engineering officers toured the ship, becoming familiar with her current role and capabilities.

Sailing from Dubai on completion of the self-maintenance period, two junior United Arab Emirates Navy Sub Lieutenants joined the ship’s company for a two-night sea familiarisation.

The Sub Lieutenants, training to be communications and navigation officers respectively, were given a glimpse of the daily work routine of Success.

HMAS Success is in the Middle East region, deployed as part of Operation MANITOU, Australia’s Defence contribution to the region’s maritime security. She will spend Anzac Day in Lemnos to assist with commemorations marking the centenary of the First World War.
