Sweden’s Intruder Sub Turns Out to Be a Workboat

Sweden reveals that it wasn’t a submarine after all!

Followed by a massive search operation for an unidentified submarine in the Stockholm archipelago in the autumn of 2014, the Swedish Armed Forces now announced that, according to their investigations, this was a false alarm.

Sweden is planning on conducting further investigations before the final report is submitted later this spring, but for now, it has been concluded that the vessel spotted was a civilian workboat, according to Ola Truedsson, naval tactical commander of the Armed Forces.

To remind, the investigations started after an amateur photograph of an alleged underwater vessel of unidentified origin was sent to the Swedish Defense Ministry.

According to RT, over 200 troops, helicopters, stealth ships and minesweepers were involved in this Baltic Sea search operation.
