HMAS Success Hosts CTF150 Commander

The Commander of Combined Task Force 150 visited HMAS Success during the ship’s recent self-maintenance period at the half way point of its Operation MANITOU deployment in the Middle East region.

In an address to the ship’s company, Commodore Brian Santarpia, of the Canadian Navy, highlighted the importance of the work HMAS Success was doing in the maritime environment and the versatility the ship and its crew have shown throughout the deployment.

Success has set a new precedent for the capabilities that a tanker can bring to the theatre. Since taking on operational tasking under Combined Task Force 150 in December 2014, she has contributed to 50 per cent of the task force’s boarding operations.

Success has now departed for Anzac Day commemorations in Greece.

Combined Task Force 150 is a multinational task force that conducts maritime security operations in the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Oman and Indian Ocean.
