USS Boxer Wins Another Battle E Award

The amphibious assault ship USS Boxer was awarded the 2014 Battle Effectiveness (Battle “E”) Award for Commander, Amphibious Squadron 1.

The announcement was made via naval message from Commander, Naval Surface Force Pacific.

In addition to the 2014 award, Boxer also was the recipient in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

The Battle “E” is awarded annually to ships and crews that exhibit the maximum condition of departmental readiness in their group, and their capability to perform their wartime tasks. Battle “E” recipients must demonstrate mission excellence in six categories of battle efficiency: maritime warfare, engineering/survivability, command and control, logistics, safety and efficiency excellence.

In the command excellence category Boxer won its fourth Ship Safety, seventh Engineering/Survivability, 13th Logistics Management and 20th Maritime Warfare award.
