Image of the Day: Marines Enter Essex after CRRC Drill

Marines assigned to Marine Recon Force Detachment enter the well deck of Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) after conducting combat rubber raiding craft (CRRC) raiding practice.

Essex is underway participating in a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) in the Pacific Ocean.

Essex ARG is comprised of Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) THREE and 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
