Sri Lanka Navy Repatriates 43 Indian Fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the repatriation of 43 Indian fishermen released from Sri Lankan custody on 14th March 2015. They were provided with safe passage up to the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankesanturai onboard Sri Lanka Navy Ship Ranagaja with the assistance of Sri Lanka Coast Guard

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the repatriation of 43 Indian fishermen released from Sri Lankan custody on 14th March 2015.

They were provided with safe passage up to the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankesanturai onboard Sri Lanka Navy Ship Ranagaja with the assistance of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Vessel CG 47 and handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Rajkamal”.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka Navy took over 13 fishing boats released by India along with a group of 30 Sri Lankan fishermen. The group consisted of six fishermen, who were in Indian custody, and 24 fishermen who had gone to India to bring back their boats.
