USS John S. McCain, USNS Pecos Engage in RAS

US Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) conducted a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) yesterday.

While the vessel was in the waters to the west of the Korean Peninsula, it met with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Pecos (T-AO-197) for RAS as part of exercise Foal Eagle 2015.

Foal Eagle is a series of defense-oriented annual training events designed to increase readiness and maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula while strengthening the Republic of Korea and U.S. alliance and promoting regional peace and stability of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

McCain is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
