Combined Task Force 152 (CTF-152), working with various ships and headquarters staff from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), recently conducted a dedicated, coordinated maritime security operation in the Persian Gulf.
These types of operations are designed to track, counter and build an understanding of any illicit activity in the Gulf in order to ensure stability in these important waters.
The Saudi-led CTF-152, based in Bahrain, used naval and air assets from the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia to conduct joint operations in support of Combined Maritime Forces’ (CMF) mission of deterring criminal and terrorist activity in the Gulf and maintaining regional maritime security.
Captain Al-Enazi, the Commander of CTF-152, said:
The coordination and communication achieved among all the units, both from the air and the sea, was outstanding. We were also able to send several Royal Saudi Naval Forces observers onto a US Navy warship for the duration of this operation, which benefitted all those involved.
