Indian Coast Guard’s 14th Fast Patrol Vessels Launched

Cochin Shipyard recently launched the fourteenth of the 20 Fast Patrol Vessels (BY 514) being built for Indian Coast Guard.

The vessel was named ICGS Apoorva in a ceremony at Cochin Shipyard. The shipyard delivered the eleventh fast patrol vessel ICGS Anagh and laid the keel of the fifteenth FPV, BY 515, on the same day. ICGS Anagh will be operated from the Coast Guard Station at Chennai. With this, CSL marked a three ship building milestone.

On February 24, 2015, Cochin Shipyard held a steel cutting ceremony for the 20th FPV. The 20 Fast Patrol Vessels are expected to be delivered ahead of the scheduled delivery date.

CSL has so far this year delivered 6 Fast Patrol vessels to the Indian Coast Guard and is constructing the Indian Navy’s future Indigenous Aircraft Carrier.
