French Navy’s La Glorieuse in Sydney

French Navy Ship La Glorieuse arrived at the Australian Fleet Base East on 12 February for a five day port visit to Sydney.

The 55 metre, 480 ton French patrol boat was welcomed to Sydney by Commander Surface Force Australia, Commodore Lee Goddard, and the Commanding Officer of HMAS Stuart, Commander Aaron Nye, who hosted the Noumea based patrol boat during the visit.

The most recent previous visit to Sydney by a French Navy Ship was Vendemiaire in October 2013 for the Royal Australian Navy International Fleet Review.

The L’Audacieuse-class patrol boat departed Fleet Base East on 16 February and is due to return to her home port of Noumea, New Caledonia.
