Bad Weather Postpones USS Laboon’s Deployment

US Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Laboon (DDG-58) should soon start its six-month deployment.

According to Wavy.com, the vessel was supposed to deploy from Naval Base Norfolk today, however, due to rough weather conditions, the deployment was postponed until tomorrow, Friday, February 13.

USS Laboon is scheduled for an independent deployment to the US 6th Fleet area of responsibility, which includes the waters around Europe and parts of Africa.

The vessel’s recent activities include training exercises and assessments, as well as engagement in the multinational Bold Alligator exercise.
