LLS Alexander Otrakovsky on Its Way to the Mediterranean Sea

Russian Navy’s Large Landing Ship (LLS) Alexander Otrakovsky is scheduled to join the Navy’s fleet of vessels in the Mediterranean Sea.

After it went through scheduled preventive maintenance works and replenished its stocks in the Novorossiysk naval base, the vessel set sail towards its destination.

The vessel will become a part of the Russian Navy’s permament task force in the Mediterranean.

LLS Alexander Otrakovsky started its journey on November 20, when it left the main base of the Northern Fleet Severomorsk. It has since then traveled about 5 thousand nautical miles and along the way engaged in numerous training exercises.
