While sailing in the Pacific Ocean, the US Navy’s aircraft carrier experienced something amazing.
The Sailors of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) were able to witness a rainbow that formed over the bow of the vessel.
John C. Stennis is undergoing an operational training period in preparation for future deployments.
It is the seventh Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier in the United States Navy, named for Senator John C. Stennis of Mississippi. She was commissioned on 9 December 1995. Her home port is Bremerton, Washington.
