U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa Elects Sailor in the Spotlight

U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa (NAVEUR-NAVAF) named Operations Specialist 1st Class Jamell Naylor, from Chicago, as the command’s Sailor in the Spotlight, Jan. 21, 2015.

During a ceremony amongst his peers, Naylor was personally congratulated by NAVEUR-NAVAF Chief of Staff, Rear Adm. John Nowell, for his outstanding performance.

Operations Specialist 1st Class Jamell Naylor, said:

I hold myself to a high standard professionally, as we should in the Navy. Do your job the best you can, and everything else will fall into place.

Naylor is the Maritime Operations Center Leading Petty Officer. His efforts in the Joint Information Control Cell have greatly enhanced readiness, continuity, and clarity with a rigorous training program for fleet watch officers, force tactical data coordinators and common operational picture managers providing precise and accurate real and near real-time air and surface tactical information to warfare commanders.

U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa/U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
