Sri Lanka Navy Commander Visits Southern Naval Area

The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera visited the Southern Naval Area on 23rd January 2015.

He was accompanied by the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Shalika Perera, senior naval officers attached to the Naval Headquarters. On arrival, the Navy Commander was received by the Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Eric Jayakody and accorded a Token Guard of Honour.

During his visit to the SNA, the Commander of the Navy declared open the Naval Pre-school, the Navy Seva Vanitha Welfare Shop and the Southern Naval Area Seva Vanitha Computer Centre at SLNS Dakshina.

The Navy Commander inspected the expansion of the slip way at SLNS Dakshina and addressed the Heads of Department of the Southern Naval Command.

In his address, the Navy Commander commended the work being carried out by the Commander Southern Naval Area and the progress achieved by the respective HODs. He conveyed his satisfaction to everyone that had rendered their fullest assistance to carry out the tasks assigned to their departments. The Navy Commander also stressed the importance of continuous training for the improvement of professionalism in all naval personnel and the maintenance of the highest level of discipline to safeguard the good image of the Navy and to uphold its time-honoured customs and traditions.
