USS Donald Cook Leaves the Black Sea

The Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) departed the Black Sea, Jan. 14, 2015, after a series of engagements that promoted peace and stability in the region.

Donald Cook’s presence in the Black Sea serves to reaffirm U.S. commitment towards strengthening partnerships and joint operational capabilities amongst U.S., NATO and regional Black Sea partners.Cmdr.

Charles Hampton, USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) commanding officer, said:

Donald Cook’s return to the Black Sea provided the opportunity to continue gaining situational awareness in the area, while working closely with allies and NATO partners.
