Norway’s Annual Fall Exercise Comes to an End

Participants from Denmark, France and Germany participated together with selected units from Norway’s broad range of naval vessels in the formally named Task Group 14-3 fall exercise on the west coast of Norway.

Frigates, corvettes, submarines, mine counter meassure-, patrol- and logistics vessels participated in the exercise, together with two CB90-class fast assault crafts, logistics support, The Mine Diver Command and Norwegian Navy Special Operations Command.

International flavor

From Denmark HDMS Thetis, an ocean patrol vessel, attended, from France the frigate FS La Motte-Picquet and from Germany a P3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft.

On a formal inspection the Chief of the Royal Norwegian Navy, Rear Admiral Lars Saunes, found the fleet preforming to his satisfaction.

He said:

Our fleet is comprised of modern units, with capable and advanced equipment. This type of maritime training is important to sustain and evolve the fighting level for each vessel.

And from what I have seen during my inspection, the objectives of the exercise has clearly been accomplished.

The exercise was conducted from November 15th to November 28th.
