HMNZS Endeavour Starts Sea Trials

The mighty tanker HMNZS ENDEAVOUR is back at sea this week, undertaking trials in the Hauraki Gulf after a long period of maintenance and upgrading, according to the Royal New Zealand Navy’s official Facebook page.

The ship “purred” out of Auckland harbour, says the CO, CDR Sandra Walker.

Ship’s Company have been enjoying calm waters. Next year will be a very busy time for ENDEAVOUR.

HMNZS ENDEAVOUR is the Navy’s purpose built fleet replenishment tanker. ENDEAVOUR can refuel ships at sea which enables their frigates and other vessels to operate over long distances for extended periods of time. She is also able to refuel ships of other navies making her a vital part of any multi-national taskforce.
