US Naval Academy Class of 2015 Receives Service Assignments

The US Naval Academy Class of 2015 received notification of their service assignments, Nov. 20, informing them about warfare communities in which they will serve as commissioned officers in the Navy and Marine Corps.

A major milestone in their career at the Academy, 1,076 first-class midshipmen opened letters containing the information that will define their lives in the fleet.

Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Adm. Ted Carter, said:

Service Assignment is a very special time for our seniors here.

I join them in their excitement to start the next chapter of their lives in service to this nation.

More than 96 percent of the midshipmen received either their first or second choice of assignments into the Navy or Marine Corps.

The class of 2015 will graduate in May.
