Australian Navy Shows Its Newest Maritime Combat Helicopter

Authorities

The Royal Australian Navy’s newest maritime combat helicopter, the MH-60R Seahawk ‘Romeo’, was introduced to the Australian public on 14 November with a spectacular flight over some of Sydney Harbour’s most iconic sites.

It was a welcome return home to Australia from the United States for members of 725 Squadron who have been training and working with the United States Navy. The enviable task of piloting the Romeo on its introductory flight fell to Executive Officer, Lieutenant Commander Todd Glynn.

The opportunity to introduce the Navy’s new maritime combat helicopter to the Australian people was one which the Romeo’s crew – Lieutenant Craig Castle, Leading Seaman – Aviation Liam Carruthers, and Lieutenant Commander Glynn, will not soon forget.

Lieutenant Commander Gynn said:

The flight was a great way to introduce the aircraft and to celebrate our many achievements to date.
