Indian Navy Locates TRV 72 Wreck

The Indian Navy has located the wreck of the naval Torpedo Recovery Vessel (TRV A-72) that had sunk off the Visakhapatnam coast earlier this month, according to Deccan Chronicle Service.

With the assistance of M/s Reliance Industries Ltd, the body that undertook underwater videography of the wreck on 18 November, the vessel was found in a water depth of 370 meters in an upright position.

Video footage of the wreck was obtained with the help of a remotely operated vessel (ROV) and the footage will be examined to determine further course of action.

The main cause of the accident is believed to have been the crack in the seals attached to the shaft of the vessel.
