LLS Alexander Shabalin Joins Russian Force in the Mediterranean

Russian Navy’s Large Landing Ship (LLS) Alexander Shabalin became a part of the permanent task force of ships in the Mediterranean yesterday.

Alexander Shabalin, LLS of Project 775, departed its naval base Baltiysk on 22 October.

During this journey the vessel made a transition across the North Sea, the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay.

The vessel is replacing LLS Kaliningrad which has been a part of the task force since December 2013.
