Thai Navy Chief Pays Visit to Singapore

The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) Admiral (ADM) Kraisorn Chansuvanich called on Singapore’s Second Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing this afternoon.

ADM Kraisorn is in Singapore on an introductory visit from 11 to 12 November 2014. As part of his visit, he will call on Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Lai Chung Han and Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng as well as inspect a Guard-of-Honour contingent at the Ministry of Defence on 12 November 2014. He will also visit the Information Fusion Centre and the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre at the Changi Command and Control Centre in the afternoon.

ADM Kraisorn’s introductory visit, his first since assuming his appointment in October 2014, underscores the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Thailand. The Republic of Singapore Navy and the RTN interact regularly through exercises, visits, cross-attendance of courses and other professional exchanges. These interactions have enhanced and deepened the mutual understanding and friendship between the two navies.
