USS Ross, Romanian Navy Train Together in the Black Sea

The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71) conducted an underway engagement with the Romanian navy in the Black Sea, Nov. 7.

The engagement was aimed at improving maritime readiness and capability; and reaffirming the commitment to promote peace and stability with US Navy’s allies and partners in the Black Sea region.

Cmdr. Tadd Gorman, commanding officer, USS Ross, said:

We are very excited to train with the Romanian navy for a second time during our deployment. Interoperability at sea is a cornerstone of NATO’s military strength. This capability allows the United States and its allies to provide the right presence in the right place at the right time.
