SUBPAC Meets Submarine Forces Executive Director

The new Submarine Forces executive director, Donald Hoffer, was introduced November 5 to the civilian workforce of Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (SUBPAC), gathered at Sharkey Theater aboard the historic Submarine Base at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

SUBPAC commander, Rear Adm. Phil Sawyer, as he welcomed Hoffer, said:

Each of the type commanders has an executive director, a civilian of the Senior Executive Service (SES), who runs much of the business side of our business, and I have always appreciated that.

During the town hall-format meeting, Hoffer introduced himself and clarified his duties as the senior civilian in the submarine force, including career development and addressing issues related to the future of undersea dominance.

As the executive director for Submarine Forces, headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, Hoffer supports research and development, acquisition, logistics, maintenance, modernization and increased collaborative efforts across the various undersea warfare areas.
