USS Cole, P-3C Orion Engage in Mavi Balina

The guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) and P-3C Orion aircraft from Patrol Squadron 4 (VP-4) will participate in the Turkish-led maritime exercise Mavi Balina, taking place Nov. 6-14 in the eastern Mediterranean.

These U.S. assets will work alongside regional maritime forces to develop interoperability and proficiency in anti-submarine warfare scenarios.

Exercise Mavi Balina is a biennial Turkish-led anti-submarine warfare maritime exercise involving NATO and regional forces in the eastern Mediterranean designed to improve interoperability and increase tactical proficiencies.
