HMCS Cataraqui Hosts Exercise RIDEAU GUARD

The sailors of several divisions of the Naval Reserve in Ontario were aboard HMCS Cataraqui on October 18 and 19 to participate in exercise RIDEAU GUARD in Kingston Harbour.

This exercise provided the opportunity for reservists from the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) to update and practice their skills regarding light craft exercises, emergency planning, communications and other tasks which Naval Reservists could be called upon to exercise in the name of the Government of Canada.

Sailors who participated in exercise RIDEAU GUARD demonstrated professionalism and dedication towards the RCN. Naval Reservists of the RCN are fully engaged in their civilian lives while pursuing a military career. In fact, they participated in the exercise over the weekend, while still fulfilling their professional and personal obligations during the week.
