USS George H.W. Bush Leaves Marseille, France

Aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) departed Marseille, France, after completing a scheduled port visit, Nov. 4.

Sailors had the opportunity to relax and enjoy the culture of Marseille.

George H.W. Bush hosted more than 200 distinguished visitors this port visit.

The U.S. Navy has long maintained a presence in Europe and Africa to promote peace, regional cooperation and security. The long-term commitment to improve maritime safety and security is part of a larger U.S. government and inter-agency team effort to enhance stability worldwide. Naval domain awareness is the first step toward improving maritime safety and security.

The George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
